"It was late 2015, and Dr. Shehan Dissanayake, a managing director and board member of the Bahamian-based investment firm The Tavistock Group (Tavistock), sat down to review the most recent financial results from the Australian Agricultural Company (AACo). Tavistock owned 32% of AACo’s total shares as of October 22, and also held some convertible notes. AACo’s primary business was breeding, raising, and processing cattle into beef products, and it owned expansive properties across northern Australia—collectively accounting for 1% of the country’s land—to contain and feed cattle."
